A message from a former student caused an Atlantic City grade school to shelter in place Wednesday.
An investigation found there was no threat, police said.
A student received a message from a former student that was interpreted as threatening, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal explained.
The school was placed on shelter in place as a precaution.
Police interviewed the former student along with his family as part of an investigation, and found no reason to believe there was a threat, Aristizabal said.
The shelter in place began at about 10 a.m., with police putting out a tweet around noon confirming they were on scene and that students and faculty were safe.
No information about the reason for the investigation was released at that time.
Students and faculty were safe throughout the incident and students were dismissed at their regularly scheduled time
