An Atlantic City man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman Lester Robinson of Atlantic City has been charged in connection with the shooting death of woman earlier this week.
Lester Robinson, 28, is charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the killing of Malikah McLaughlin, who was found shot multiple times in the first block of South Bellevue Avenue just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
An investigation led to Robinson's arrest. Despite the conspiracy charge, no other suspects have been named at this time.
McLaughlin's younger brother, Michael McLaughlin, was also a victim of gun violence. He was just 17 when he was killed in 2018, during a dice game gone wrong.
During a dice game gone wrong, the teen was shot in the back as he fled.
Rashaad Norwood is serving a 25-year sentence for the crime.
In addition to conspiracy, Robinson is charged with weapons offenses, including possession of a weapon by a certain person. Robinson's prior history, which includes a 2019 conviction, makes it illegal for him to possess a firearm.
He is currently in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
