An Atlantic City man wanted in several crimes from August and December was arrested in Galloway Township, police said.
Glen Graves, 32, allegedly fled police in December, after discarding a gun while running.
He was able to escape, but investigations led to him being tied to several crimes dating to a shooting that wounded two people in August, according to the charges.
Police were called to Brigantine Homes at 11:24 p.m. Aug. 5, after a ShotSpotter alert.
A short time later, two shooting victims arrived at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
An investigation by the Violent Crimes Unit led to charges including two counts of aggravated assault, along with weapons offenses.
Graves is also tied to a kidnapping that began with him allegedly forcing his way into a residence in the 800 block of North Virginia Avenue on Dec. 27.
He robbed the residents before forcing one of the victims at gunpoint to drive him to an ATM to withdraw cash as he sat in the rear of the vehicle.
A description of the vehicle was broadcast citywide at the time, Aristizabal said.
Officer John Bell was patrolling the area at 9:34 a.m., when he saw the vehicle exit a parking lot in the 900 block of Atlantic Avenue, and head west, according to the report.
The officer followed until the vehicle abruptly parked in a lot at Pennsylvania and Atlantic avenues.
Graves got out of the rear of the vehicle and ran north on Pennsylvania with Bell chasing him, Aristizabal said.
As Graves cut across a lot in the 1000 block of Arctic Avenue, Bell saw him discard a handgun, according to the report.
Graves continued running east through the lot, jumped a fence and disappeared out of sight, Aristizabal said. Responding patrol units searched the area but were unsuccessful in locating Graves.
The recovered handgun was found to be defaced, fitted with a high-capacity magazine, and loaded with hollow-point ammunition.
Officers later learned that Graves had entered an apartment building in the first block of North Virginia Avenue, forced his way into an apartment and physically assaulted the occupant where he hid to escape police, Aristizabal said.
Graves is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
