Camden man admits stealing gun from A.C. casino hotel room

A Camden County man admitted Wednesday that he stole a gun from an Atlantic City casino hotel room last summer.

Guy Richardson, 40, pleaded guilty to one count of certain person not to possess a firearm.

Richardson was arrested for shoplifting in Camden County, and found with the firearm, which was stolen from a guest's room at Ocean Casino and Resort on July 18.

He also pleaded guilty to an unlawful possession of a handgun charge in that case.

Guy Richardson pleads guilty in Atlantic County on Wednesday as part of his plea in Camden County.

The plea agreement there calls for five years with a mandatory 3½ years before parole eligibility.

The Atlantic County case would be concurrent, and calls for five years with no parole.

The investigation was conducted by Atlantic City police with help from police in Gloucester Township.

His sentencing date for both cases has not yet been set. That will happen in Camden County.
