Delaware man charged in ongoing Longport, Margate theft investigations

  • News

A Delaware man was arrested this week for allegedly stealing an iPad delivered to a Longport home.

Jose Almonte-Sanchez, 32, of Wilmington, was arrested after an investigation into the theft from a home in the 1800 block of Atlantic Avenue, police said.

He was charged with trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.

Almonte-Sanchez was processed and then turned over to Margate police, who charged him with theft by unlawful taking, records show.

He was released on summonses.

The investigation is ongoing. The Longport charges have been forwarded to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Longport police remind residents to remain vigilant to suspicious activity and contact police immediately if they believe they are the victim of fraud or theft.

Police released photos from a home surveillance camera showing Almonte-Sanchez and a vehicle.
