Two Georgia men are jailed after a missing Middle Township teen was found with them in the bedroom of their home.
Sergio Gomez, 19, and Yester Rolando Montecillos Vasquez, 24, allegedly traveled to the girls' home and then drove her back to Acworth, Ga., stopping at a motel in Maryland for an overnight stay along the way, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
They are jailed in the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center on charges of attempted child luring and conspiracy to lure a child pending extradition to Cape May County, jail records show.
Investigators used text messages, video surveillance and cell phone pings to track the men's journey, leading to the girl at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday.
Middle Township police received a report of a missing 14-year-old girl at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, according to police.
The affidavit puts the time the girl disappeared at about 11:30 a.m.
Officers canvassing the neighborhood found surveillance footage showing a white Kia Optima driving slowing in the area of the victim's residence.
A search of the girl's cell phone, which she left home, showed text messages with a contact named "Randy," the affidavit states. Pings for that number showed it in the area of the girl's home at about 5 Sunday morning.
It was not clear how the girl men "Randy," or what the text messages contained.
But the phone number was used to track the route, showing it went from Middle Township across the Delaware Memorial Bridge and stopped in Jessup, Md., the affidavit states.
The phone utilized cell towers covering a Quality Inn on Sunday night.
FBI agents from Baltimore checked the hotel's cameras and saw the girl checking in with two Hispanic males on Sunday night, and then checking out the following day, according to the affidavit.
Montecillos Vasquez used his name to check in, the affidavit states. The cell phone also was in contact with another number throughout the day that also was registered to Montecillos Vasquez.
Records from AT&T were requested and pinged to Middle Township at about 11:16 a.m. Sunday, around the time the girl disappeared, according to the affidavit.
Both phones pinged in the area of Shadow Circle and Shadowbrook Drive in Acworth, Ga., with the AT&T phone within 110 meters of Shadow Circle cul-de-sac, the officer in the case wrote.
FBI agents found a white Kia Optima with Georgia plates in the driveway of 5322 Shadow Circle, where both men live, according to the affidavit. The girl was found in a bedroom at 12:30 a.m. with both men.
It was not clear whether the girl was home. But police said that she was safe.
The investigation is ongoing.
It was not clear if more charges would be filed.
Police released the girl's name and photo when she was reported missing, but BreakingAC is not publishing them since she is a minor and now considered a victim.
