Atlantic City man faces five years in gun plea

  • News

An Atlantic City man found with a loaded handgun pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Nasir Morgan, 19, faces five years in prison under the plea agreement.

He would have to serve at least 3½ years before he is eligible for parole.

Morgan was arrested in February, after police responding to the report of two armed males saw him and a 17-year-old in the 500 block of North New York Avenue and tried to stop them.

Morgan was seen discarding a handgun behind a dumpster. The gun was retrieved and found to have a high-capacity magazine, police said at the time.

He also had about 22 70 wax folds of heroin laced with fentanyl and $408 in cash.

Morgan is scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 26.
