Mays Landing man admits to weapons charge in dumbbell attack

  • News

A Mays Landing man accused of lunging at police with a dumbbell pleaded guilty Wednesday.

Ryan Dutton, 32, was found carrying a dumbbell when police responded to a report of a man yelling racial slurs in the hallway at the Sandpiper Condominiums on Nov. 16.

Dutton refused orders to drop the weight, and tried to lung at police before subdued and arrested, according to the report.

He faces three years in prison when he is sentenced Sept. 26.
