Two men are jailed after they allegedly were in a car with guns and drugs Tuesday.
Officer Joseph Kelly stopped the car driven by Joseph Lawrence just before 9 p.m. in the first block of South Ohio Avenue, police said.
Kelly saw an open backpack with a handgun inside while waiting for Lawrence to provide documents, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Lawrence and his passenger, Tyheem Williams, were both found to have outstanding warrants, according to the report.
The officer recovered the backpack that had the handgun, along with marijuana and paraphernalia, Fair said.
Williams, 20, of Millville, also was found with a gun during a search following his arrest, according to the report.
Lawrence, 28, of Philadelphia, and Williams were charged with weapon and drug offenses.
Both are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.
