  • News

An Atlantic City man allegedly chased a man with a gun and then refused to leave a building for several hours.

Rueben Flores got into a verbal fight with another men when he left and returned with a gun, according to the report.

Flores, 31, chased the 25-year-old man, who suffered minor injuries when he jumped a fence to get away from Flores, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

Flores then went into a building in the 300 block of Albany Avenue, and refused to come out, Fair said.

The Emergency Response Team responded, with SWAT officers entering the building when Flores refused to leave after several hours, according to the report.

He was then taken into custody without incident.

Officers searched the building, but did not find a weapon.

Flores was charged with aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing.
