A Galloway Township man admitted he slammed a door on a kitten several times, breaking all of the animal's limbs to the point it had to be euthanized.
He put the BB gun — a replica of a .44-caliber revolver handgun — at the man's head and cocked it after the victim tried to walk away, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Ciarla fled and was found hiding under a trailer at a nearby business, police said at the time. He was arrested after a brief stand-off.
The kitten, who belonged to Ciarla's girlfriend, was brought to the Absecon Veterinary Hospital on Nov. 15, 2021, with all its limbs broken beyond repair.
He faces three years in prison for the animal cruelty charge under the plea agreement. The gun incident holds a 365-day sentence.
Ciarla is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Bernard DeLury on Oct. 5
