A Mays Landing man and 35 others are named in a 120-count indictment that includes money laundering, forgery, computer crimes and identity theft.
He had more than 1,988 stolen checks, amounting to about $9,763,588.09, according to the allegations. Edwards-Stewart also allegedly had more than1,000 items of personal identifying information for other individuals, numerous government documents belonging to other individuals, and software and templates to create fraudulent checks.
His nearly three dozen co-defendants are from various states, including multiple Atlantic County residents.
They face multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit money laundering and two counts of second-degree theft.
