Vineland man gets five years for 'ghost gun' in A.C.

  • News

A Vineland man arrested after brandishing a gun in Atlantic City last year was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday.

Jahlil Walker, now 24, must serve at least 3½ years before he is eligible for parole.

Atlantic City Police Department Surveillance Center personnel alerted patrol to two groups in a fight on the Boardwalk in the area of California Avenue and the Boardwalk at about 4:10 a.m. June 4, 2022.

A man later identified as Walker was seen pointing a handgun toward the other group, police said at the time.

Walker was then found with a handgun loaded with a 16-round magazine. The gun had no serial number, making it a so-called "ghost gun" because of the difficulty in tracking it.

An additional round of ammunition was found in his front pocket, along with fentanyl.

Walker is in the Cumberland County Correctional Facility awaiting transfer to state prison.
