Pleasantville man gets 10 years in brutal stabbing during brawl outside Atlantic City bar

  • News

A Pleasantville man who stabbed a man 42 times during a brawl outside an Atlantic City bar was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday.

Alejandro Navarette-Gonzalez, who was previously listed as an Atlantic City resident, was seen on video repeatedly stabbing the victim, who was already on the ground when he was attacked in the predawn hours of April 4, 2022.

The fight started inside Los Compadres Restaurant at 2701 Arctic Ave. just before 5 a.m.

Video posted on Facebook at the time showed the fight outside the bar, with several people involved and punches thrown.

The victim, identified as Sean Williams in a GoFundMe set up for him at the time, has recovered from his injuries, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

Navarette-Gonzalez, now 25, pleaded guilty last month to attempted murder.

He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence — or 8½ years — before he is eligible for parole.
