An Upper Township man accused of fleeing a crash that killed a pedestrian is in jail.
Hugo Maucher, 50, is charged with knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in death and violation of public law intended to protect public safety.
Maucher was heading north on Stagecoach Road when he struck 80-year-old Marjorie Straubmuller State Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian Thursday evening.
The suspect driver was heading north on Stagecoach Road in Upper Township, when he struck a pedestrian at about 6:30 p.m. Dec. 29, police said.
Witnesses saw the driver and vehicle leave the scene before troopers arrived, according to the report.
He was arrested Tuesday.
