Two children struck by vehicle in Atlantic City

Two children were seriously injured when they were struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning.

The accident happened at about 8:14 a.m., as the 10- and 14-year-olds started to cross Maryland Avenue at Magellan Avenue, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.

The 45-year-old Pleasantville man who was driving south on Maryland Avenue immediately stopped and stayed at the scene, according to the report. His name was not released.

The juveniles were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus by ambulance.

No charges have been announced. The crash is under investigation.
