Atlantic City police recovered two guns in separate arrests within hours Sunday.
Police were called to an abandoned residence in the 100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue at 10:14 a.m. for a man threatening to shoot a woman with a gun, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Officers Adrianna Petinga and William Harned were given a description of the suspect, and saw him on the second floor of the residence, according to the report.
Armando Rodriguez, 42, refused their orders to come down the stairs. They were able to get to him, and found a loaded handgun in his waistband, Fair said.
The victim was not physically injured.
Sgt. Daniel Arra stopped a vehicle around Brigantine Boulevard and Huron Avenue at 7:32 p.m., for several motor vehicle violations, including failure to stop or signal, records show.
The driver, Freddie Williams Jr. of Mays Landing, was arrested after he was found with a handgun, Fair said.
An alert had been issued earlier for the vehicle in connection with an investigation in Stafford Township, Ocean County, Fair said.
Rodriguez is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a large-capacity magazine and terroristic threats.
Williams is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
Both men are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.
