A Burlington County man was sentenced to seven years in prison Tuesday, in the stabbing of a Somers Point man last year.
Raul Virella, 30, of Bordentown, pleaded guilty in March to second-degree aggravated assault.
He must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence under the No Early Release Act.
Sarhan was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus, where he underwent lifesaving surgery, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office.
Virella fled in a vehicle, which crashed a short time later in Mullica Township, according to the initial report.
He abandoned the vehicle, which led to a search that included the State Police Aviation Unit, Galloway and Mullica police, and the Hamilton Township K-9 Unit.
Virella was arrested in Hammonton.
He admitted stabbing Sarhan in a statement to law enforcement.
