An Atlantic City man was arrested on drug and stolen property charges after a one-month investigation led police to 24 catalytic converters.
Felix Beltran, 50, was arrested Thursday on an active warrant, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Police searched his residence in the 100 block of North Iowa Avenue and found prescription pills, paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics, the catalytic converters and tools used to remove them, according to the charges.
Police were able to link five of catalytic converters to a theft that occurred at a local business on the same date.
They were returned to the business.
Detectives are working to identify other catalytic converter thefts in Atlantic County and could file additional charges.
The investigation was led by Detectives James Barrett.
Beltran is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute, possession of with intent to distribute within a school zone, possession of with intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public zone, possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility awaiting a detention hearing.
