  • News

Two Bridgeton teens died in a shooting police say was a targeted assault late Saturday night.

Police were called to the area of Oxford Street and Belmont Avenue at about 11:40 p.m. for the report of shots fired, Chief Michael Gaimari Sr. said.

Three teens had been shot at, with a 16-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy dead at the scene, according to the report.

A second 17-year-old boy also sustained a gunshot wound and was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he is in stable condition, Gaimari said.

None of the names has been released.

The three teens were on the front porch of an Oxford Street residence when an unknown subject approached and fired several shots, according to the preliminary investigation.

No arrests have been made at this time.
