An Atlantic City man is jailed after he allegedly fled a car stop where police later found a gun.
Majestic Moody, 20, was stopped for motor vehicle infractions in the 1400 block of Cedar Court at 11:13 p.m. June 8.
He fled but was stopped by Officer Adrian Nunez-Santos, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
Moody was found with 90 bags of heroin, 27 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of methamphetamine, according to the report.
Nunez-Santos' K-9 partner, Narco, then indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A warranted search led to a loaded handgun, Fair said.
Between when Moody was jailed on the drug charges and when the new gun charges came, Moody was released from the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Fair said he could not say why Moody was no longer jailed when they went to serve the new charges, since that is a court issue.
Moody's detention hearing was listed for last Thursday, when he was apparently released.
Officers Matthew Crosby and Dion Lui found Moody again Saturday, in the area of Tennessee and Atlantic avenues, Fair said.
He is now again jailed pending a detention hearing.
Moody is charged with three counts each of possession, possession with intent to distribute and possession within 500 feet of a public zone. He is additionally charged with resisting arrest, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession while committing a drug offense, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a large-capacity magazine.
His original motor vehicle violations included disregarding a traffic sign, failure to use his turn signal and driving without a license, according to court records.
