A Brooklyn man is in jail after he allegedly stabbed two people during an altercation in Atlantic City.
Police were called to the 3000 block of Pacific Avenue at 12:31 a.m. Sunday for a report of a fight with one man armed with a knife, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
When Officer Dylan Prerez arrived, multiple bystanders pointed to the suspect who had stabbed two men, according to the report.
Dwayne Lewis started to run away as the officer tried to stop him, Fair said.
Lewis was arrested with help from Officer Kenlyn Johnson, Fair said.
Lewis and the men were involved in an altercation, when Lewis used a pocketknife to stab both, according to the report.
Both victims were taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Lewis, 37, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and resisting arrest.
He is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
