Bellmawr man pleads guilty in Atlantic City stabbing

A Camden County man pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in a stabbing that wounded a 60-year-old Atlantic City man.

City police were called to the area of Kentucky and Atlantic avenues July 19, 2021, for the report that a man was stabbed.

Darren Petti, of Bellmawr, matched the description of the suspect.

Police found him in the rear of the bus terminal. When he saw the officers, Petti went inside the terminal, according to the report.

Police arrested him and found a small black folding knife in his pocket.

Petti, now 39, faces three years in prison. He must serve at least 85 percent, or more than 2½ years.

He will have served two years on July 19.

His sentencing is set for Aug. 10.
