Atlantic City fugitive still sought in 2021 guns, money-laundering case

  • News

An Atlantic City man who has been a fugitive for two years is still being sought.

Jordan Ragland, now 31, allegedly laundered more than $100,000 of drug money through the city's casinos, including wire and bank transfers.

He has ties to New Bern, N.C., according to State Police. Charges include endangering the welfare of a child, weapons offenses and drug charges.

No details were available on the child endangering charge.

Ragland first became the focus on an investigation in September 2020, police previously released.

It was found that he was having drugs shipped to his home, according to State Police, who intercepted a March 2, 2021, shipment with help from the U.S. postal inspectors.

A search of the home led to more than $43,000 worth of drugs, guns and high-capacity magazines.

Two months before that, Ragland was arrested after fleeing a car stop that was part of an Atlantic City police drug investigation into a passenger in the car.

David Miller, then 43, of Pleasantville, was arrested and charged with a stolen handgun, drugs and a bulletproof vest found inside a Rodeway Inn room as a result of the investigation. Ragland, who was the driver, was charged only with eluding, resisting and obstruction and released on a summons.

Police have not been able to apprehend Ragland since.
