An Egg Harbor Township man was injured in a one-car crash that ended with his vehicle overturned, police said.
Sean Pizzo, 30, told police he was traveling south on Tilton Road just past Larue Avenue, when the vehicle pulled to the right due to a mechanical failure.
The vehicle struck a telephone pole and overturned, Lt. John Heim said.
When police arrived, Pizzo had crawled out of the car. The telephone pole had been sheared at the base with electrical wires lying in the roadway, according to the report.
The Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad, Paramedics from AtlantiCare, Cardiff Volunteer Fire Department and the Atlantic City Electric responded to the scene.
Pizzoe was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus in Atlantic City with injuries considered minor to moderate, Heim said.
The crash is being investigated by Officer Cody Ng. Traffic was detoured around the area for about two hours while the scene was being investigated and the vehicle removed.
