An Atlantic City man charged with having a gun and drugs during a traffic stop was ordered held in jail Tuesday.
David Parker, 28, was pulled over Thursday on Aloe Street in Galloway Township, when his and his passenger's actions caused the officer to call in a K-9 team, according to the charges.
Narco, who was on his first shift, indicated drugs were in the car. A search led to 115 wax folds believed to contain heroin, along with a Glock 19 semi-automatic handgun reported stolen from Atlantic City.
Parker's criminal history prohibits him from having a gun.
His attorney, Stephen Funk, said the search of the vehicle has "significant suppression issues that police will have to answer questions about in the future."
Parker had pending drug charges at the time of his arrest, with the drugs in that case testing positive for fentanyl, Judge Patricia Wild said, reading from the state's report.
She also noted Parker's "significant" criminal history, which includes two prison terms and six convictions.
The passenger, Jose Echevarria, 35, of Galloway Township, also was to have his detention hearing Tuesday, but his attorney had it postponed.
