The Atlantic City police and Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the death of a man found unconscious near the All Wars Memorial building.
Police were called to the are at New York and Adriatic avenues at 8:32 a.m. for the report of an unconscious man found lying on a concrete bench, Sgt. Paul Aristizabal said.
After checking of vital signes, Officers Maria Borsani and Brent Dooley immediately started CPR until the Atlantic City Fire Department and Emergency Medical personnel arrived on scene and took over, according to the report.
The 60-year-old city man was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released.
It is believed to be a drug overdose. The investigation is ongoing.
