Bridgeton man indicted in sex assaults on five minors over six years

  • News

A Bridgeton man was indicted last week in the sexual assaults of five minors from 2010 through 2016.

One alleged victim came forward last year, leading to others to come forward, according to the affidavits dated June 29.

Gabriel Guerrero, now 66, faces a dozen charges across the five cases, ranging from debauching the morals of a minor to aggravated sexual assault. They all appear to be related to him.

Guerrero was arrested last July, and housed in the Cumberland County jail for about nine days, when it appears he was released following a detention hearing.

The affidavits obtained by BreakingAC redact the ages the girls were at the time, but most appear to be older than 4 but younger than 13, according to the charges.

One indicated she was molested on more than one occasion before she entered middle school.

The first victim was in 2010, and told investigators she woke up to Guerrero rubbing her privates and telling her not to tell anyone.

Three victims are tied to 2012, including one who wrote a three-page letter to investigators, detailing the alleged abuse. She alleges Guerrero touched her about 10 times, and that she once woke up to him performing oral sex on her.

The most recent allegations are from 2016, when the victim alleges Guerrero performed oral sex on her and touched her privates on numerous occasions during her childhood.

Most of the incidents seem to have happened when the girls slept at Guerrero's home.
