  • News

A man and woman were arrested after police seized several guns along with drugs from a Northfield home.

Daniel Harvey, 21, of Northfield, and Alma Janson, 20, of Somers Point, were arrested after police searched the home in the 400 block of Fairbanks Avenue on Wednesday morning, Capt. Steve Steinecke said.

The three-month investigation began after police learned that the occupants were distributing LSD and Psilocybin mushrooms, according to the report.

Police seized a loaded 9mm P80 privately manufactured firearm, a loaded 9mm Baretta, a fully loaded 50-round magazine drum, hollow-point ammunition, 10 ounces of Psilocybin mushrooms, 10 grams of LSD, more than $10,000 in cash, a money counter, scales and drug paraphernalia, Steinecke said.

The warrant was served by the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit South, Northfield police, the State Police TEAMS unit and a K-9 Stafford Township Police unit.

Detective Ramon Ortiz of the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression Unit and Northfield Detective Keith Lyons initiated the investigation.

Harvey and Janson were charged with numerous weapons and drug offenses and in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.
