A Hamilton Township man was sentenced to five years in prison for an aggravated assault and weapon possession during a domestic dispute in 2021.
Joseph Ferante, 36, pleaded guilty in March.
He was arrested Sept. 9, 2021, when police were called to a township home for a domestic dispute.
Police arrived to find the victim, who said Ferante assaulted him and then fled.
The shotgun was found during the search of the home, and determined to belong to Ferante.
He was sentenced last week to the terms of the plea agreement, which calls for five years with no parole for 3½ years for possession of the sawed-off shotgun. He already has served more than 1½ year in jail.
Ferante also got a three-year concurrent term for the aggravated assault.
He is currently in the Burlington County jail awaiting transfer to state prison.
