Galloway man arrested in Pleasantville after allegedly brandishing gun in A.C.

A Galloway Township man is jailed after he allegedly brandished a gun during an argument in Atlantic City.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Grant Avenue at 3:22 p.m. Monday, after Damiel Williams shattered a window following an argument, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

Officer Latray Butcher then learned Williams had pointed a gun at the victim during a separate argument, according to the report.

Williams, whose first name is also listed as Daniel, was arrested by Pleasantville police after Officer Kamau Bazemore found him on West Pleasant Avenue, Fair said.

Williams was found in possession of a bag of heroin, Fair said. He also had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Atlantic City police had Williams' vehicle towed, and obtained a search warrant.

K-9 Officer Melvin Murray III and his partner, Jynx, were called to assist in the search Tuesday. Jynx gave a positive indication for narcotics, Fair said.

Officers found a loaded handgun inside the vehicle along with 486 bags of heroin, more than three grams of cocaine and paraphernalia used in drug distribution, according to the charges.

Williams previously served a five-year prison sentence for a 2017 case, when State Police arrested him and a teenager after troopers found more than $30,000 in drugs during a traffic stop on the Atlantic City Expressway.

Williams, 33, is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, certain person not to possess a weapon, criminal mischief, three counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, two counts of possession with intent to distribute and possession of a prohibited device for hollow-point bullets.
