Millville man convicted in sexual assaults of pre-teen

  • News

A Millville faces a possible life in prison in the sexual assaults of a pre-teen child.

Justin Kuhl, 31, was convicted of two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child following a trial in Cumberland County Superior Court.

The charges originated from several incidents that occurred between Jan. 1, 2019, and Sept. 11, 2020, in Millville, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.

Between those dates it was alleged that Kuhl engaged in sexual intercourse with the victim who was younger than 13.

The investigation was conducted by members of the New Jersey State Police and the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office.

He is scheduled for sentencing Sept. 24, but those dates often are pushed off as sex offenders must first undergo an evaluation at the Avenel Adult Diagnostic and Treatment Center.

In addition to the 25 years to life for each of sexual assault charges, Kuhl also faces five to 10 years each for the endangering charges.

If released, he would have to register as a Megan's Law offender and have supervision for life.
