Police raid alleged marijuana facility in Pleasantville

  • News

The men were arrested for illegally selling marijuana in Pleasantville.

Several citizen complaints led city police, Atlantic County SWAT and the FBI to The Gas Station on Tuesday, Capt. Stacey Schlachter said.

The warranted search was part of an extensive investigation, she said.

Christian Mezquita and Jesus Marrero were charged several crimes, including maintaining a drug-production facility and manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance.

The building at 18 N. Main St. is also within a school zone.

Mezquita, 21, of Pleasantville, and Marrero, 24, of Fresh Meadows, N.Y., are in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending detention hearings.

The investigation was led by Detective Juan Morillo with assistance from the Pleasantville Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau and the FBI Atlantic City RA Safe Streets Task Force.
