Atlantic City stabbing victim allegedly dropped gun in ambulance

An Atlantic City stabbing victim wound up arrested after police say he dropped a gun in the ambulance.

Police were called to the area of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Arctic Avenue for the report of a man stabbed, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

Marcus Martineau, 35, was found with a stab wound and taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for treatment, according to the report.

During his transportation, a handgun fell out of Martineau's bag, Fair said.

The weapon was recovered when he got to the hospital, and he was taken into custody, according to the report.

Martineau is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person not to possess a weapon.

He pleaded guilty in a aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Oct. 17, 2022, court records show. He was given a non-custodial sentence.

Martineau is now in the Atlantic County Justice Facility
