An Atlantic County man who was the target of a joint investigation was arrested on drug and gun charges in Atlantic City last week.
Altyriek Warren, 34, was the target of a months-long investigation that included detectives from Atlantic City's Special Investigations Sections and the Liberty Mid-Atlantic DEA Atlantic County HIDTA Task Force, Lt. Kevin Fair said.
The Atlantic City SWAT Team aided the raid in the first block South Bellevue Avenue, in an apartment where Warren lived.
Residents and businesses have complained to police about the possession and distribution of drugs in that area that have impacted the quality of life, Fair said.
Detectives recovered two loaded handguns, along with distribution quantities of cocaine and heroin, and paraphernalia used to distribute narcotics.
Warren also had an outstanding warrant, Fair said.
He has a history of drug arrests, court records show, with at least six since February 2020.
Warren was one of four people charged with a defaced firearm Oct. 17, 2020.
During a brief court appearance Thursday, Warren said he no longer lives in the apartment at 20 S. Bellevue Ave, and gave an address on Falcon Drive in Absecon.
He is jailed on drug and weapons offenses, including two counts of possession of a weapon by a certain person and possession of a weapon while committing a drug offense.
Warren will stay in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a detention hearing set for Tuesday.
