More than 900 families got a Thanksgiving dinner courtesy of Atlantic City.
The giveaway for residents was held Monday in the City Hall courtyard.
Every turkey came with a box containing stuffing mix, instant mashed potatoes, canned vegetables and cranberry sauce.
The Food Box Giveaway was organized by the Atlantic City Senior Services division and the city’s Community Development Block Grant program.
Mayor Marty Small, along with Health and Human Services and Public Works employees helped distribute the food.
The turkeys and fixings were provided by the Bangladesh Association of South Jersey and Cedar Markets.
The city also partnered Kelsey and Kim’s Southern Cafe on Monday for a Community Feed event at Soldier’s Home, where residents were invited to enjoy a free hot meal on a first-come, first-served basis.
Kelsey’s owners Kelsey and Kim Jackson also prepared hot meals for Atlantic City first responders.
