A former Vineland man acquitted in the fatal stabbing of his neighbor in a fight sparked by TikTok videos of the man’s wife is now jailed in Florida.
Zachary Latham, 21, faces several charges, including aggravated stalking, sexual voyeurism and violating a restraining order.
Even jail didn't stop him, according to the court records obtained by BreakingAC.
Latham called the victim from the Lee County Jail a total of 26 times in less than four days, a detective's search of phone records found. The victim had the jail's number blocked, so she never received the calls.
Her name is redacted from the records due to the nature of the case, so it is not clear whether this was Latham's wife, who videoed the May 4, 2020 fight in which 51-year-old William Durham Sr. was killed.
Latham is accused of secretly videoing himself having sex with the victim when they were in a relationship, the court records state. She was alerted to its existence after he sent it to her parents and at least one other person.
Despite a restraining order, Latham continued to text, call and follow the victim, according to the complaints.
"Latham willfully, maliciously and repeatedly follow(ed) and harass(ed) the victim while the domestic violence injunction was active," the detective wrote.
In one incident, she was paying at the end of an appointment when Latham showed up behind her and started rubbing her back, according to the report. When she tried to escape to a bathroom, he followed her. She ran to her car, but he was able to get in the back seat, and ordered her to drive him somewhere.
She complied, according to the complaint, and then fled after he got out of the car.
Latham is in the Lee County jail in Florida, where he moved while on release in Durham's killing.
Durham and his family went to Latham's May 4, 2020, in a battle between the neighbors that had been brewing for weeks, after Latham posted a video of Durham’s wife online and it went viral.
CourtTV dubbed it the “Nasty Neighbor Stabbing Trial.”
Latham also had an arrest in Florida while on release in killing. He was accused in January 2021 of using his car as a weapon.
A motorist in Fort Myers flagged down a trooper saying another driver brandished a firearm at him and then tried to ram his vehicle with their car. He was in court in that case in August, according to a local news report.
Latham remains jailed pending hearings set for the end of the month.
He also could have more charges in another jurisdiction after the victim alerted police to a prior sexual attack on her there, the complaint says.
