A Hudson County man who allegedly robbed two Atlantic County banks in two days is now in jail.
Thomas J. Ingram, 37, of Bayonne, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the September robberies.
The first robbery happened at about 6:30 p.m. Sept. 14, at the Parke Bank on Tilton Road in Northfield.
He approached the teller and ordered that money be placed in a bag, police said at the time. No weapon was produced.
The First National Bank of Absecon was robbed at about 1 p.m. the next day.
Ingram is charged with two counts in each town: second-degree robbery and third-degree theft by unlawful taking.
The investigation included the Absecon and Northfield police departments, along with the FBI and police from Bayonne, Springfield, Atlantic City and the N.J. State Police.
"The collaborative efforts of these agencies were instrumental in the apprehension of Thomas J. Ingram and the successful resolution of this case," Absecon police said in a news release. "Their dedication to public safety and swift response played a crucial role in bringing this suspect to justice."
