Convicted human-trafficker pleads guilty in drug death

  • News

An Atlantic City man serving a 60-year sentence for human-trafficking has admitted to his part in the 2017 drug-induced death of a woman.

Tahir Gregory, 44, is in New Jersey State Prison after his conviction in January of trafficking two women.

He received consecutive sentences of 30 years for each victim, with 20 years of parole ineligibility for each. His current release date is in 2060.

Gregory now faces a seven-year sentence in the June 29, 2017, heroin death of 31-year-old M.E. He would have to serve at least 85 percent under the No Early Release Act.

The time would run concurrent to his current term, meaning it would not add to his sentence.
