Local leaders' cries against a plan that could move thousands of asylum-seekers to the Atlantic City International Airport is just "anti-immigrant rhetoric," according to organizers of a rally set for Tuesday morning.
A rally last week brought together leaders from throughout the county, including state representatives, after news that a plan by the Biden administration named the airport as one of 11 places to move about 60,000 migrants now in New York City.
But organizers of Tuesday's rally say that's not the case.
They will denounce the officials and "issue a resounding condemnation of the despicable and inflammatory rhetoric targeting undocumented immigrants," an announcement about the rally read.
The meeting will be in the same place as last week's, 10 a.m. in the City Hall Courtyard in Atlantic City.
Local 54 will join immigrant justice organizations, faith leaders and business owners.
