A Ventnor man is accused of leaving the scene of a crash that injured a bicyclist this weekend.
Keith R. Kaplan, 64, is charged with assault by auto and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in bodily injury.
Multiple people called 911, saying a bicyclist was hit by a car in the area of Burghley and Marshall avenues, Lt. David Gaeckle said.
Arriving officers found that the driver had fled the area, driving south in the700 block of Burghley, according to the report.
The bicyclist, a 65-year-old Ventnor resident, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to a the hospital for treatment.
An investigation found that the accused was believed to be driving a black Audi. Officers were also able to get a photo of the suspect vehicle leaving the area, Gaeckle said.
The Audi was found Tuesday, and Kaplan was charged. He was released on summonses.
Kaplan also faces several motor vehicle summonses, including reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign and no rearview mirror.
Police Chief Joseph Fussner credited the arrest to the tireless efforts and due diligence of Ventnor detectives and Patrol Division.
