Baltimore man gets probation in sex assault of A.C. hotel housekeeper

  • News

A Baltimore man was given probation in a 2018 attack on a Atlantic City hotel housekeeper.

Hosea Jackson, 66, locked the housekeeper in his Claridge Hotel room July 30, 2018. He then grabbed her arms and placed her hand over his genitals, refusing to let her go, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

The victim was able to break free, locking herself in a nearby room and calling for help.

A jury convicted Jackson of third-degree criminal restraint and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact in July.

The state argued for a sentence of five years in prison, based on the facts of the case and Jackson’s prior criminal history, which was not detailed in a release put out by the Prosecutor's Office.

Judge William Todd Miller sentenced him instead to three years' probation.
