Here’s hoping you are having an exceptional week and gearing up for an exciting end to it.
We’ve had some amazing sunny days. But that’s not the only thing heating up around here. There’s something for everyone to enjoy in and around Atlantic City this weekend.
BreakingAC strives to make you aware of lesser-known events that support the community, expand your mind and introduce you to local talent. Here are just a few of the great happenings down the shore.
Speaking of heating up: Here’s your reminder that in less than six short weeks, the off-season will be over and the Shoobies will arrive.
Take advantage of local life while you still can.
Some of our readers will be celebrating the cannabis, counterculture holiday of 420 this Saturday, 4/20.
Fueled by the excitement of the legalization of recreational use in the area, local dispensaries will be marking the day.
If you don’t know the historical significance of 420, it’s a fun piece of trivia involving five high school students in San Rafael, Calif., taking part in a unique scavenger hunt in 1971.
In short, their code phrase for a plan to find the “treasure” was called 420 Louis, because they met at 4:20 p.m. in front of the Louis Pasteur statue on school grounds.
The Pasteur reference was put out to pasture and just the digits 420 stuck. And the rest, as they say, is history. And now you are ready if Willie Nelson or Snoop Dog ever guest host "Jeopardy!".
The more you know…
I’d love to tell you all about the Smoke on the Water cruise that I will be hosting on Saturday.

This event includes a farmers market and live music. Tickets can be found HERE for $5 while they last.
Egg Harbor Township newcomer Brute’s Roots, conveniently located at 6206 Black Horse Pike, will be giving away 16 vouchers for an ounce of product to one lucky winner at their store at precisely 4:20 p.m. this Saturday.

If you want to welcome Atlantic City’s first completely African American and veteran-owned establishment to the neighborhood, stop by Bakin’ Bad and wish the proprietors well on Saturday at their official public grand opening.
