A wrong address led to criminal charges for a Pleasantville business owner.
Fed Ex delivered a package to City Hall at 18 N. First St. that had four large bags of marijuana.
The intended recipient on the package was Pleasantville Accessories, determined to be Pleasantville Tobacco and Accessories at 18 N. Main St., a block away, Capt. Stacey Schlachter said.
The business is licensed to sell tobacco products and accessories, not cannabis, according to the charges.
An investigation led to a warranted search of the business Wednesday.
Police found more than five pounds of marijuana and THC edibles, along with individually packed bags and containers for individual sales, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
Packaging materials were also found, including empty bags and jars, new labels, weight scales and wax paper folds.
There was also $6,691.71 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal sales, the affidavit alleges.
Owner Riyadh Al-Naggar — whose home address is also listed as the business' — was charged with six counts, including a second-degree charge for being within 500 feet of a public building, the city's library.
The business is also within a school zone, with Washington Avenue Elementary School within 1,000 feet.
Al-Naggar, 50, was taken to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, but released Thursday, when the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office did not file a motion for detention.
