A Cape May Court House man is accused of sharing images of child sexual abuse via social media.
Xavier Figueroa Jr., 20, is charged with manufacturing and distributing after he allegedly shared videos via the social app "X," formerly known as Twitter.
The investigation was sparked by a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A search warrant was served at Figueroa's home last Wednesday by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force,the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Middle Township Police Department's Major Crimes Unit.
An extensive follow-up investigation led to his arrest two days later.
Figueroa is charged with second-degree charges of manufacturing child pornography and distributing child pornography, along with a third-degree possession charges.
He is in the Cape May County Correctional Facility, pending a detention hearing.
