Galloway Township police say the scene where a man barricaded himself in Smithville was resolved.
Police were called to the 700 block of Cooper Ferry Court at about noon Sunday for a welfare check.
When police arrived, the individual was reported to be armed and refused to come out of the residence.
The man voluntarily exited after about six hours, police said.
He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for medical evaluation.
It was not clear if a weapon was recovered.
Galloway police thanked the Atlantic County SWAT team and Galloway EMS for their help.
