A suspect is in custody after an armed robbery Friday night at the Dollar General in Absecon.
The male entered the store at 603 White Horse Pike, brandishing a handgun and demanding cash, employees told police who responded to the scene just before 8:30 p.m.
The employees complied with the suspect's demands before he fled the scene on foot.
Officers located an individual matching the suspect's description in the vicinity and initiated a foot pursuit. The suspect was observed running through residential yards before being detained by officers.
The suspect is not being named since the investigation is still active, police said.
