A Somers Point motorcyclist died in a crash on Longport Boulevard on Thursday night.
Alfred Mottola II, 66, was riding his 2023 Harley Davidson west in front of Graef's Boat Yard in Egg Harbor Township, when he crossed into oncoming traffic, Capt. Cherie Burgan said.
The motorcycle then struck a 2010 Nissan Rogue being driven by a 17-year-old from Glassboro, Somerset County. The teen suffered a minor injury and refused medical treatment at the scene.
A Porsche Cayenne was also involved.
The 63-year-old man and 60-year-old woman from Marmora in the Porsche were not injured.
Somers Point Fire Department, Somers Point and Longport police, and the NJDOT Traffic Incident Management Unit also responded to the scene.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating along with the Egg Harbor Township Traffic Safety Unit.
Longport Boulevard was shut down for about five hours while the crash was being investigated and the scene cleared.
The crash is being investigated by Officers Thomas Rizzotte, Nathan Lahr and Joseph Ricevuto, and Sgt. Edward Stearns of the Traffic Safety Unit.
