Two Atlantic City teens carjacked delivery driver, police say

  • News

Two Atlantic City teens are charged in the daylight carjacking of a delivery driver Saturday.

Police were called to the 1000 block of Sewell Avenue just before 3 p.m., and found the 35-year-old victim with injuries from the assault, Lt. Kevin Fair said.

The unnamed victim was making a delivery when he found a juvenile boy trying to steal his vehicle, he told police.

The boy assaulted the victim, and a second teen joined in, according to the report.

The man was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Officers Anthony Nastasi and Nickolas Cardani found the vehicle at about 4 p.m. in the 500 block of Absecon Boulevard. They saw two teens get out and walk away.

Officers Ivan Cruz and La’Quay Green stopped the 15- and 16-year-old and arrested them.

The teens are charged with carjacking, motor vehicle theft and aggravated assault.

Both are in the Harborfields Detention Center.
