A New York man and woman are jailed in the killing of an Atlantic City man during a robbery last month.
Howard Griswold and Melissa Tikaram were arrested 11 days apart in Syracuse, N.Y.
He was taken to the hospital, where he died of a gunshot wound to the neck. His was the fifth homicide of the year.
Hunter's pocket had been turned out and his cell phone was missing, according to the affidavit of probable cause obtained by BreakingAC.
A man answered that phone when friends tried to call it after Hunter was killed, the affidavit states. It is believed it was Griswold.
Surveillance video shows Hunter leaving his home and walking a short distance, when two gunshots are heard, according to the report.
"Give me that sh--!" a man yells, the affidavit states.
A Nissan Rogue rented by Tikaram is then seen leaving the scene, it says. Tikaram is seen driving with a passenger in the car.
The Rogue was later found in the parking of of Resorts.
Phone records show Tikaram was in contact with Hunter just before he was shot.
Tikaram and Griswold had an ongoing relationship, the records also showed.
Tikaram, 28, of Manlius, N.Y., was arrested Jan. 30, by detectives from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office’s Major Crimes Unit with assistance from Syracuse police and the FBI.
Griswold, 24, of Baldwinsville, N.Y., was arrested Friday by the same group. He is in the Onondaga County Justice Center in New York, awaiting extradition.
Both are charged with murder, robbery and theft.
